This page explains exactly how our reviews are researched and what they are — and are not — based on.
1. Licence first
Every review starts with the national regulator’s public register. We confirm that:
- the company named in the operator’s footer holds a current licence in that country;
- the licence covers the product we write about (sports betting, casino or both);
- the website address we link to is the one registered with the regulator.
If any of these checks fail, we do not publish a review for that market. Each review names the regulator and links to its register so you can verify the licence yourself.
2. Terms and conditions
We read the operator’s general terms, bonus terms (where local law allows bonuses to be shown), payment terms and responsible gambling policy. Figures such as minimum deposits or withdrawal limits are taken from these documents and dated. Terms change, so always check the operator’s site before depositing.
3. What we do not do
- We do not publish star ratings, “scores” or payout-speed claims we cannot verify.
- We do not review operators for markets where they are not licensed.
- We do not promote bonuses where local advertising rules restrict it (for example in Spain, the Netherlands, Ontario and Latvia).
4. Local rules
Each market has its own minimum age, self-exclusion scheme and advertising rules. Our reviews state the local age limit and link to the national self-exclusion register and support services.
5. Updates and corrections
Reviews are checked against the regulator’s register when we update them. If you find an error, please tell us through the contact page and we will correct it.
6. Commercial relationships
We earn commission from some operators through affiliate links. Commission never decides whether an operator is reviewed; a local licence does. Details are in our affiliate disclosure.
