Who is TonyBet Ireland for?

TonyBet is an Estonian-registered bookmaker that has been trading under the TonyBet name since 2009 and now holds licences in several European markets. In Ireland it runs a dedicated Irish section of its main site at tonybet.com/ie, with euro accounts, an Irish Android app and an Irish blog that previews GAA championship fixtures, the Galway Races and other home favourites alongside Premier League football and international rugby.

It suits punters who want a straightforward online sportsbook with a broad spread of international sports, in-play betting and a good choice of e-wallets. It is a weaker fit if you like a high-street shop: TonyBet has no retail presence here. This review covers only the sportsbook and is written for readers aged 18 and over.

Licence and player protection

This is the part that matters most, so it is worth setting out carefully. Ireland is in the middle of moving from the old Revenue-based bookmaker licensing system to a new regime under the Gambling Regulation Act 2024, overseen by the Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland (GRAI). The GRAI opened applications for business-to-consumer betting licences in February 2026 and has been able to license remote (online) betting operators since 1 July 2026.

When we checked the GRAI’s public licence register in September 2026, TonyBet OÜ was listed as holding a Business to Consumer licence for remote betting, number GRAI-0191-RB-26-0001, issued on 16 September 2026 with an expiry date of 15 September 2029 and the trading name “Tonybet”. That makes TonyBet one of the first online bookmakers licensed under the new Irish regime.

Before that, TonyBet OÜ held a Remote Bookmaker’s Licence from the Revenue Commissioners, reference 1017899, with the trading name TONYBET.COM. It still appeared on Revenue’s published register of licensed remote bookmakers at the time of writing. That register does not show expiry dates, and the GRAI is still finalising transition arrangements with Revenue, so the GRAI register is now the better place to confirm TonyBet’s current standing. Both registers are free to check, and we would encourage anyone to do so before opening an account with any bookmaker.

Use the right web address. TonyBet serves Irish customers from tonybet.com/ie, and the domain on the Revenue register is tonybet.com. There is no tonybet.ie domain. Searching for “TonyBet Ireland” brings up a number of lookalike sites on other domains that are not run by the operator, so type the address yourself or use the official app store listings.

Beyond the licence, TonyBet’s help portal says the company must identify every customer by at least name, surname and date of birth, and it may ask for further documents under anti-money-laundering rules. Its help pages also state that it is prohibited to deposit using someone else’s payment method, and that withdrawals must go to a method registered in the account holder’s name.

Registration and verification

According to TonyBet’s own Irish guide, signing up at tonybet.com/ie takes three short screens:

  1. Choose “Sign Up”, set your country to Ireland, and enter an email address and password.
  2. Set the currency to euro and enter your name, gender and date of birth. The form asks whether you have an Estonian personal code; Irish customers answer no.
  3. Enter your address, Eircode/postcode and town, then your mobile number with the +353 prefix. Confirm you are over 18, accept the terms and privacy policy, and decide separately whether you want marketing messages by email or SMS.

Use your name exactly as it appears on your ID. TonyBet says it can suspend an account if registration details do not match the documents you provide later, and only one account per person is allowed.

Documents you may be asked for

  • Proof of identity: passport, national ID card or driving licence.
  • Proof of address: a recent utility bill or bank statement.
  • Proof of payment method: a photo of your card with the middle digits covered, or a screenshot of your e-wallet account.

TonyBet may also ask for a photo of you holding your ID, a video check, certified copies or evidence of the source of your funds. Documents are uploaded under Profile, then Personal details, then Account verification. Your first withdrawal triggers verification at the latest, so uploading clear documents early avoids a hold-up later.

Sports and betting markets

TonyBet’s Irish Android and iOS app listings name football, basketball, American football, volleyball, tennis, ice hockey, table tennis, handball, cricket, MMA, darts, snooker, futsal and beach soccer, together with esports such as League of Legends, Dota 2 and Counter-Strike. The football coverage named there includes the Premier League, Champions League and Europa League; tennis includes the Grand Slams and the ATP and WTA tours.

For Irish punters, the Irish TonyBet blog is a useful pointer to what the operator is focusing on locally. In 2026 it has run previews of the All-Ireland hurling and football finals, the camogie finals, the Galway Races and other Irish and British racing festivals, plus a beginner’s guide to reading a racecard. We would still recommend opening the sports menu and checking that the GAA or racing markets you want are listed before you deposit, because the depth of markets on any given day is not something we could confirm independently.

Bet types

TonyBet’s sports rules describe the main bet types you would expect:

  • Singles and multiples (accumulators). In a multiple, every selection must win; the odds are multiplied together.
  • Match result (1X2), correct score, over/under totals and odd/even markets. On totals, if the result lands exactly on the line, bets are void.
  • Head-to-head and half-time/full-time markets.

The app listings also advertise a bet builder for combining markets within the same game. You can switch the odds display format in your profile under Preferences, which is handy if you prefer fractional odds for racing and decimals for everything else. Once placed, a bet cannot be cancelled, though TonyBet says cash-out may be available on some events.

Live betting

In-play betting is a core part of the sportsbook. The Irish app listings describe live betting across sports, with real-time score updates and live statistics, and they also mention live streaming. We could not confirm which events are streamed or whether any funded-account or bet requirement applies, so treat streaming as a possible extra rather than a guarantee, and check the event page before relying on it.

Cash-out is advertised in the app listings too. TonyBet’s help portal is more cautious, saying it “can be available” for some events, which is the fair way to put it: cash-out is not offered on every market, and the amount offered reflects the current odds, so it is usually worth less than letting a winning bet run.

Payments

TonyBet’s Irish blog lists the following payment options for Irish customers. The operator itself says the methods shown in your cashier can vary, and that withdrawal options depend on what you have already used to deposit, so treat this as a guide rather than a guarantee.

Method Examples listed by TonyBet Withdrawal time quoted by TonyBet TonyBet fee
Debit/credit cards Visa, Mastercard Up to 7 business days None
E-wallets Skrill, Neteller, AstroPay, Payz, Jeton, MiFinity Up to 12 hours None
Bank payments Bank transfer, Rapidtransfer Depends on bank or provider None
Cryptocurrency Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, XRP, Tether USD Under 24 hours Network fee applies

A few details are worth knowing before you deposit:

  • Minimum withdrawal: TonyBet’s Irish guide gives €10 as the minimum, though it can vary by method. We could not verify a minimum deposit for Ireland, so check the cashier.
  • Maximum withdrawals: the same guide quotes limits of €3,000 per day, €15,000 per week and €50,000 per month, and TonyBet reserves the right to apply individual limits.
  • Fees: TonyBet says it does not charge for deposits or withdrawals, but your bank, e-wallet or crypto network may.
  • Timings are estimates. The quoted times assume your account is fully verified. Outstanding documents are the most common reason for a delay.
  • Pending withdrawals can be cancelled through customer support, but once a withdrawal has been approved it cannot be reversed.

Cryptocurrency is volatile and payments cannot be reversed, so if you are unsure, a card or regulated e-wallet is the simpler route.

Mobile betting and the TonyBet app

TonyBet publishes a dedicated Irish app on both major platforms:

  • Android: “Tonybet: Sports betting Casino” on Google Play (package com.tb.ireland), rated PEGI 18 and last updated in September 2026. It links to www.tonybet.com/ie.
  • iPhone and iPad: “Tonybet: Sports betting Casino” on the Irish App Store, rated 18+ and requiring iOS 15.0 or later. Its seller is listed as Mobileminds OÜ, with www.tonybet.com/ie as the website.

The app listings describe the same sportsbook features as the website: pre-match and in-play betting, live statistics, cash-out, bet builder and the responsible gambling tools. When we checked in September 2026, the iOS app had a user rating of 2.6 out of 5 from 60 ratings, which is a small sample but worth knowing. If you would rather not install anything, the website works in a mobile browser at tonybet.com/ie.

Only download the app from Google Play or the App Store. The lookalike websites that appear in search results also offer “app downloads”, and there is no reason to install an APK from an unofficial site.

Customer support

TonyBet’s help pages point customers to a 24-hour live chat and to email support; the Irish app listings give support@tonybet.com as the contact address. There is also a searchable help centre in English at chat.tonybet.com, with sections on account verification, deposits and withdrawals, sports betting rules and responsible gambling.

We did not contact support, so we cannot comment on response times. For a delayed withdrawal, TonyBet advises using live chat rather than submitting repeat requests; keep a note of the date and chat reference in case you need to escalate.

Responsible gambling tools and where to get help

Betting should be entertainment you can afford, not a way to make money. TonyBet’s help pages and Irish registration guide describe the following tools, found under Profile, then Preferences, then Responsible gambling tools:

  • Deposit and loss limits: daily, weekly or monthly. Lowering a limit applies straight away; raising or removing one only takes effect after a 48-hour wait and email confirmation.
  • Time-out: a short break of 24 hours, one week, one month, six weeks or three months, set up through live chat or email. It cannot be lifted early, but you can still withdraw your balance.
  • Self-exclusion: from six months to three years, set in your account.
  • Account closure: if you close your account permanently, TonyBet says you cannot re-register for one year.

You can add extra layers outside the bookmaker. The GRAI suggests blocking software such as BetBlocker or Gamban and a gambling block on your bank card; AIB, Bank of Ireland, EBS, PTSB and Revolut all offer one, either in the app or by phone.

Support services in Ireland

The following services are listed by the GRAI:

  • Gambling Awareness Trust (gamblingcare.ie): national helpline 1800 936 725, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
  • Extern Problem Gambling (problemgambling.ie): 089 241 5401, free specialist counselling anywhere on the island of Ireland. Extern also runs the Women’s Gambling Support Network.
  • Gamblers Anonymous Ireland (gamblersanonymous.ie): free meetings; Dublin number 01 872 1133, with regional numbers listed on its website.
  • HSE Addiction Services (hse.ie): specialist addiction services and recovery supports.
  • MABS: 0818 07 2000 for free, confidential money and debt advice.

If gambling is causing distress, Samaritans are available on 116 123, day or night.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Licensed for remote betting by the GRAI, with the licence publicly listed on its register.
  • Dedicated Irish site section, euro accounts and an Irish app on both Android and iOS.
  • Broad range of international sports and esports, with in-play betting, bet builder and cash-out on selected events.
  • Wide choice of e-wallets, with no TonyBet fees on deposits or withdrawals.
  • Deposit and loss limits, time-outs and self-exclusion available from the moment your account is open.

Cons

  • No tonybet.ie domain, and several lookalike sites rank in search results, so you need to be careful with the address.
  • No retail shops in Ireland and no phone line for customers listed; support is by live chat and email.
  • Card withdrawals can take up to seven business days.
  • Payment options and minimum deposits vary by account, so some details can only be confirmed in the cashier.
  • The iOS app’s user rating was modest (2.6 out of 5) when we checked.

How we reviewed TonyBet

This review is based on desk research carried out in September 2026. We checked TonyBet’s licence status on the GRAI’s public register and on Revenue’s register of licensed remote bookmakers, read TonyBet’s help centre, its Irish blog guides on registration, verification and withdrawals, and its Irish app listings on Google Play and the App Store. For player support services we relied on the GRAI’s own list.

We did not open a funded account or place real-money bets, and nothing here describes personal testing. The main TonyBet site was geo-restricted from our research location, so some details come from TonyBet’s help pages and app listings rather than the live sportsbook. Payment methods, limits and features can change, so always check the cashier and terms at tonybet.com/ie before you deposit.

Verdict

TonyBet is a properly licensed option for Irish sports betting: it is on the GRAI’s register of remote betting licensees, and before that it held a Revenue remote bookmaker’s licence. The sportsbook covers a broad range of international sports and esports, with in-play betting, a bet builder and cash-out on some events, and the Irish blog shows a genuine interest in GAA and Irish racing. The payment range is wide, and the responsible gambling tools are easy to find.

The drawbacks are practical: no Irish domain, common lookalike sites, chat-and-email-only support and slow card withdrawals. If those do not bother you, TonyBet is worth comparing with other GRAI-licensed bookmakers. Set a deposit limit when you sign up and bet only what you can afford to lose.
