Who is this TonyBet review for?

TonyBet is a European sportsbook brand. It got its start with poker entrepreneur Antanas Guoga, better known as Tony G, and has since picked up licences in several jurisdictions. In December 2022, the AGCO registered Ligtip Limited as an internet gaming operator. That opened the door for TonyBet to enter Ontario’s regulated market at tonybet.ca. Trade press at the time noted that Ontario was the brand’s first step into North America and that it would launch with sports betting first.

This review is for Ontario bettors who want a plain, factual overview before opening an account. We cover who runs the site, how the licensing works, what you can bet on, how deposits and withdrawals work, what the mobile apps look like and which safer-gambling tools exist. TonyBet’s Ontario site also has casino products, but this review covers the sportsbook only.

Our focus is on what matters most when choosing a sportsbook: licensing, transparency, payments and player protection.

Licence and player protection

Who operates TonyBet in Ontario?

The Ontario site is run by Ligtip Limited, a Maltese company. Ontario’s iGaming framework is built on two bodies:

  • The AGCO is the regulator. It registers internet gaming operators and sets the Registrar’s Standards for Internet Gaming that they must meet.
  • iGaming Ontario (iGO) is a subsidiary of the AGCO. It contracts with registered operators, who offer their games in conjunction with iGO.

The AGCO’s own page on registered operators points players to iGO’s public directory of regulated sites. When we checked that directory in September 2026, TonyBet (tonybet.ca) appeared with “Casino” and “Sports Betting” listed as its offerings. Filtering the directory by legal entity for “Ligtip Limited” returns TonyBet as the only site. That is the quickest way to confirm you are on the genuine regulated site and not a lookalike.

Watch out for copycat domains

Searching for “TonyBet Ontario” brings up a surprising number of unofficial domains with similar names. Many are affiliate pages or login “mirrors” that are not part of the regulated site. The only address listed for TonyBet in iGO’s directory is tonybet.ca. Type it in yourself, or use the link in the iGO directory, and never enter your login details or banking information on any other domain.

What Ontario regulation means for you

Because TonyBet is part of the regulated market, it must follow the AGCO’s Registrar’s Standards for Internet Gaming. These standards cover preventing underage access, game integrity, privacy and information security, anti-money laundering and responsible gambling. In practice, that means:

  • Only people aged 19 or older can open an account (the standards make a narrow exception for 18-year-olds buying lottery tickets, which does not apply to sports betting).
  • You must be authenticated before you can access your account and place bets.
  • You must be offered deposit and loss limits when you register, and you can set limits at any time afterwards.
  • If you ask to relax or remove a limit, the change only takes effect after a 24-hour cooling-off period.
  • The operator must run its own self-exclusion program and offer short breaks from play.
  • As a regulated operator, TonyBet takes part in Ontario’s centralized self-exclusion system (covered below).

Registration and verification

TonyBet’s help pages say two conditions must be met before you can sign up: you must be at least 19 and you must be physically located in Ontario. The Ontario FAQ also says that anyone visiting from outside the province should contact TonyBet by email to find out which TonyBet site, if any, is available where they are.

Opening an account follows the usual pattern for Ontario’s regulated market:

  1. Go to tonybet.ca or open the official Ontario app, and choose to register.
  2. Enter your personal details. Ontario’s standards require at least your date of birth, and operators normally also ask for your full name, address and contact information.
  3. Set your deposit and loss limits. Registered operators must offer these during sign-up, and it’s worth setting them straight away.
  4. Complete identity verification. Regulated operators have to confirm your age and identity, so be ready to upload a government-issued photo ID if asked.
  5. Allow location checks. Bets can only be placed from within Ontario, so the site and app check where you are.

Some Google Play reviews complain about location errors inside the province. If you get one, contact support before trying again, and make sure your device’s location services are switched on.

Sports and betting markets

TonyBet’s Ontario sportsbook has a pre-match section at tonybet.ca/prematch and a live section at tonybet.ca/live. We couldn’t browse the full betting menu from our research location because the site is geo-restricted. Instead, we confirmed coverage through the sportsbook’s own indexed event and league pages. At the time of research, these included:

  • Ice hockey: NHL game pages in both the pre-match and live sections, plus a dedicated live ice hockey page.
  • Baseball: an MLB league page.
  • Basketball: many NBA pre-match game pages and WNBA fixtures.
  • American football: an NFL league page.
  • Soccer: leagues from around the world, including Italy’s Serie A and the Canadian Premier League (for example, Valour FC vs Forge FC Hamilton).
  • Tennis: including events at the ATP tournament in Toronto.
  • Cricket and MMA, both with their own sections.
  • Esports: League of Legends competitions and Counter-Strike events such as the BLAST.tv Austin Major, plus eSoccer.
  • Niche sports including volleyball, table tennis, futsal and squash.

The official Ontario Android app lists the NFL, NBA, NHL and MLB, along with soccer, tennis and boxing, and says it offers both pre-match and in-play markets.

A note for CFL fans: We did not find a CFL league page among TonyBet’s indexed Ontario pages, so we can’t confirm CFL coverage. If Canadian football matters to you, check the sportsbook menu after you log in.

We have not published odds comparisons or margin figures. Prices change constantly, and we did not record odds ourselves. Before you bet, compare prices across several regulated Ontario sportsbooks. Even small differences add up over time.

Live betting

The live section at tonybet.ca/live lists in-play markets across a range of sports. Its indexed pages include live NHL games, soccer, tennis doubles, volleyball, table tennis, cricket and esports. The official app listings also mention scores, stats and odds that update in real time.

We could not verify whether TonyBet offers live video streaming to Ontario customers, or whether features such as cash-out or bet builders are available on the Ontario site. Neither appears in the official sources we could access, so we haven’t counted them as features. If they matter to you, check the live section or ask support before you deposit.

Live odds shift within seconds, so setting a loss limit before you start is especially useful for in-play betting.

Payments

Because TonyBet’s cashier is only visible to logged-in customers in Ontario, we could only confirm payment information that TonyBet publishes in its official app listings. Both the Google Play listing and the Ontario App Store listing describe deposits and withdrawals by “debit cards and e-wallets”.

Payment type Deposits Withdrawals What we could verify
Debit cards Yes Yes Named in the official Ontario app listings. Specific card brands not confirmed
E-wallets Yes Yes Named in the official Ontario app listings. Specific providers not confirmed

Third-party sites publish longer payment lists for “TonyBet Canada”, including minimum amounts and processing times. However, some of those lists clearly describe TonyBet’s separate site for the rest of Canada, which is not available to Ontario residents, rather than tonybet.ca. We couldn’t confirm Interac availability, specific e-wallet brands, minimum deposits or payout times for the Ontario site from official sources, so we haven’t listed them. Check the cashier and TonyBet’s help pages for current methods, limits and any fees before you deposit.

At any regulated sportsbook, complete identity verification before your first withdrawal and use a payment method in your own name to avoid delays.

Mobile betting and apps

TonyBet offers official Ontario apps on both major platforms.

  • Android: “Tonybet: Sports Betting Casino” on Google Play (package ca.tb.ontario). The listing states you must be 19+ and located in Ontario, and it links to tonybet.ca, the Ontario terms and conditions, and TonyBet’s responsible gaming page. The listed developer is MobileMinds OU of Tallinn, Estonia. The app was last updated in September 2026.
  • iOS: “Tonybet Ontario: Casino & Bets” on the Canadian App Store. It requires iOS 15.0 or later and is sold by Mobileminds OU with copyright held by Ligtip LTD. The listing also says you must be 19+ and located in Ontario.

Both apps also include casino content, which this review does not cover. According to the listings, the sportsbook features include favouriting sports and leagues for quick access, and pre-match and live markets. The Ontario iOS app lists English plus 21 other languages.

User ratings on both stores are mixed: recent reviews include complaints about crashes, withdrawals and location detection, alongside positive comments on payouts and service. Download only from the official store listings, not from links on third-party sites.

Customer support

TonyBet’s Ontario contact page is at tonybet.ca/help/contacts. The published support email for Ontario customers is info@tonybet.ca. The Google Play listing describes the support team as available around the clock and also points to the online help centre, which includes an FAQ for regulated play.

We could not confirm from official sources whether live chat or phone support is available to Ontario customers, and we did not contact support ourselves. When writing in, include your username (never your password) and keep copies of your messages.

Responsible gambling tools and where to get help

Sports betting should be a form of entertainment you can afford, not a way to make money. TonyBet has a responsible gaming page at tonybet.ca/information/responsible-gaming. As a registered Ontario operator, it must meet the AGCO’s responsible gambling standards, which include:

  • Deposit and loss limits: offered at registration and adjustable at any time. Relaxing a limit only takes effect after a 24-hour cooling-off period.
  • Time-based limits: an easy way to limit how long you play.
  • Breaks in play: short breaks of one day, one week, one month, two months or three months.
  • Self-exclusion: a voluntary self-exclusion program run by the operator for its own site.

BetGuard: one self-exclusion for all of Ontario

On May 14, 2026, iGaming Ontario launched BetGuard (betguard.ca), a centralized self-exclusion tool for Ontario’s regulated online gambling market. If you’re 19 or older, you can use a single portal to opt out of every regulated Ontario iGaming site at once, including OLG’s. You can choose 6 months, 1 year, 5 years or a custom period. While you’re excluded, you can’t log in to existing accounts, open new ones or receive marketing from regulated operators.

How we reviewed TonyBet Ontario

This review is based on desk research of publicly available information, carried out in September 2026. We checked iGaming Ontario’s directory of regulated sites, including a filter by legal entity; the AGCO’s Registrar’s Standards for Internet Gaming; iGaming Ontario’s BetGuard announcement; and ConnexOntario’s website. We also reviewed TonyBet’s official Ontario pages as indexed by search engines (the help FAQ, contact page, terms and conditions, responsible gaming page, and sports and league pages), the official Ontario app listings on Google Play and the Apple App Store, and trade press coverage of the operator’s registration.

We did not test the site with real-money play, open an account, deposit, withdraw or contact customer support. Parts of tonybet.ca were geo-restricted from our research location, so some details come from TonyBet’s help pages and official app listings rather than from browsing the live sportsbook. Where we couldn’t confirm something from an official source, we’ve said so instead of repeating unverified claims. We don’t give scores or star ratings.

Verdict

TonyBet is a legitimate, regulated choice for Ontario sports bettors. Ligtip Limited is registered with the AGCO, the site appears in iGaming Ontario’s directory, and its sportsbook covers the major North American leagues alongside international soccer, tennis, cricket, MMA and esports, with both pre-match and live markets. Being part of Ontario’s regulated market also means limits, breaks, self-exclusion and BetGuard are all available to you.

The main drawback is how little official detail is public about the Ontario site’s payment methods, limits and features such as streaming. Mixed app reviews are also worth reading before you sign up. If you decide to open an account, go to tonybet.ca directly, set your limits during registration, and check the cashier terms before your first deposit.
